Living and Working in China

Many expat teachers choose to live in China for its extensive range of art, culture, cuisine, and an entirely new adventurous experience. Most of the International schools in China are most commonly found in larger cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and more popular cities that draw expats from all over the world.

Schools will usually employ a combination of expat English teachers and local Chinese teachers. The class sizes usually run on the smaller side and technology plays a big role in today's classrooms. Although the salaries tend to be less than your home country, most expats are still able to travel, save, and explore the cities on weekends - as salaries tend to stretch a lot further in China.

Teaching Benefits

Most international schools in China offer packages that include the following:

In more rural areas, there will be mostly local Chinese cuisine found in restaurants.
